Moderator Popular Post Li**** Posted May 9, 2019 Moderator Popular Post Posted May 9, 2019 I love to start the day right and I love having a routine for my morning. Do you have a morning routine or an ideal way how you (would) like to start your day?
Moderator Popular Post Tine Posted May 9, 2019 Moderator Popular Post Posted May 9, 2019 My daily routine changes and evolves depending on what I need and where I am. Right now I start my day with a meditation and breathing exercise while still in bed, then I feed the dog, have a shower, then breakfast (usually fresh fruit and müsli), walk the dog through the beautiful countryside and by the time we are back home it's normally not even 8:00. Most importantly a barely ever set an alarm so I need to be a bit flexible, but most of the time it works out just fine.
Moderator Popular Post joanna Posted May 14, 2019 Moderator Popular Post Posted May 14, 2019 yoga. :)
Moderator Popular Post Candy Posted May 15, 2019 Moderator Popular Post Posted May 15, 2019 Since I stopped drinking alcohol, mornings have become my favourite part of my day! I try to wake up before 8am, get in 15-20 minutes of yoga, a short guided meditation, and then a drink of lemon juice, apple cider vinegar and water, which I sip on while I journal out my thoughts - something called Morning Pages. It's a wonderful little tool to clear your head and start your day fresh! Once I've done all that, I do a quick dry brushing session before taking a hot shower :)
Moderator Li**** Posted May 16, 2019 Author Moderator Posted May 16, 2019 @Bethnicles that sounds great! I'm super inspired by you doing the Morning Pages method, I never heard of it before but just googled it and I definitely wanna try it :)
Members Popular Post Sh**** Posted June 27, 2019 Members Popular Post Posted June 27, 2019 I like to start my day with a brief gratitude exercise and this motivates me throughout the day. For five minutes, I sit in silence with eyes closed. I start by first feeling acceptance for my present reality, no matter how good or bad it is, and slowly begin to think how worse everything could get as I am not entitled to anything. For 2 minutes I appreciate and give thanks to the Source that is responsible for supporting life every moment. And in the last minute, I thank the Source for a particular blessing, benefit I received a day before (for instance, salary coming in the bank, or paying off utility bills, or eating out etc). Ever since I came to realise that happiness is actually an effect, not cause, I have been passionately and actively trying to nurture gratitude. Happiness does not have power to create more happiness as it is just an effect or spent force that we spend in sensual pleasure. The result of indulging in happiness is distress because happiness is not a cause (seed). While gratitude or appreciation is the seed that creates happiness. Have you experienced this phenomena? Would love to know your views on this.
Moderator Popular Post Tine Posted June 27, 2019 Moderator Popular Post Posted June 27, 2019 This is a beautiful perspective that really resonates with me: When you water your gratitude seeds they will bloom with the flowers of happiness.
Members Popular Post Di**** Posted July 5, 2019 Members Popular Post Posted July 5, 2019 What a great question!! My morning routine is giving my thanks! I silently say 'thank you' for having been given another day on Earth, for waking up in good health, (even if I wish I stayed un bed longer)! It might sounds a little cheesy but since I unfortunately lost both of my parents when I was young, I have learnt through the years to be grateful, every mornings, I am lucky to enjoy the good, the bad and the ugly of this life!
Members Popular Post gr**** Posted July 6, 2019 Members Popular Post Posted July 6, 2019 The two things I'm trying to do every morning are starting the day with five minutes of meditation (after brushing my teeth) and then making my bed. I once read that people who make their beds are happier and more successful. I've been doing this for more than a year now and it's just wonderful to come home to a carefully made bed. ?
Members Popular Post En**** Posted July 6, 2019 Members Popular Post Posted July 6, 2019 I know that is not the ideal thin but my routine consists on drinking 0.5 litter coffee while reading the news.

In the past, I mixed it up and thought I need to get somewhere to become happy.

Do you feel ok with it? I used to drink a lot of coffee in the morning, too. I thought that I wouldn't be able to wake up without drinking any. However, for several reasons, I changed that and I'm drinking now green or white tea in the morning. I realized that I have much more energy in the day. Over time I tried out a lot of things to add in my morning routine. But it's difficult to keep up with a time-intensive morning routine, especially as I am having small kids that require my attention. So I finally stuck with waking up consciously (becoming aware of my body and mind) and stretch in the bed, later I also make my bed for the same reason like @gre ?I love to eat 9 soaked almonds in the morning, which was recommended by my yoga teacher. after this, I brush my teeth and take a shower. If I wake up earlier I also do a bit yoga or meditation in the morning.
Members Popular Post huma Posted July 11, 2019 Members Popular Post Posted July 11, 2019 I have to defend@Enriqueto, @Yvonne because I drink so much coffee too I agree, it's not good but I LOVE the taste and a big part of my morning routine is coffee and breakfast. But I have to admit, after some years I think my body said "enough with this speed" and I started to have heartthrobs. Now I let myself drink coffee in the morning but cut down on it after noon and switch to tea. Besides coffee the habit I love for my mornings is tidying up my house and making the bed. It also helps me to have a nice evening. After coming back from work or having time out with friends, I want my home to provide me with a cosy welcome so finding the house tidy in the evening is important for me.
Members ra**** Posted November 4, 2019 Members Posted November 4, 2019 I'm trying to make a new routine this week because I very recently quit smoking. Usually I eat, drink coffee and then run out the door for a cigarette. This week I'm going to try to have my coffee and breakfast and then make sure everything is clean so that I can do a mindfulness meditation without any distractions, excessive, then prepare myself for whatever the day has to offer.
