A cooperative village in Catalonia

Come home to
something real.

Happiness Village is a cooperative village we’re developing in Catalonia, with private homes, shared gardens and spaces to gather, surrounded by nature.

Why
Geoship domes?

The homes are an important part of the life we want to create here. We’ve chosen Geoship domes for their approach to materials, energy efficiency and the experience of living inside them.

Bioceramic materials

Geoship uses bioceramic composites to create the dome’s panels. These ceramic materials are being developed for durability and resistance to fire, moisture and pests. That focus on longevity matters to us: homes should serve the people living in them for many years and generations to come.

Using resources thoughtfully

The dome’s shape and insulation are designed to reduce the energy needed to keep the home comfortable. Geoship’s manufacturing approach also aims to reduce construction waste and the carbon impact of building.

Light and space

High ceilings, rounded interiors and generous windows give the homes an open, spacious feel. Views of trees, gardens and the changing sky keep the surrounding landscape present, even when you’re spending the day indoors.

Shared ownership, a home of your own

How the
cooperative will work.

Happiness Village will follow a cooperative model, with shared ownership of the land and long-term rights to use a private home.

Your home will be your own space, somewhere to settle in, make your own and enjoy your private life. Through the cooperative, you’ll also have a part in shaping the shared village around it.

We’re currently developing the legal structures and agreements that will put this into practice. Membership terms, decision-making processes and arrangements for joining or leaving will be explained clearly before anyone is asked to make a commitment.

Explore the practical questions

A few practical things

Questions
about living here.

Where will the village be?

In Catalonia, Spain. We’re actively searching and visiting potential sites, with the aim of securing land during 2027. The exact location has not yet been chosen.

When could I move in?

Our target is to welcome the first residents in 2030. Timing depends on the land, permissions, funding and construction. We’ll share progress and any changes through Circle.

Would I own my home?

The intended cooperative model combines shared ownership of the land with long-term rights to use a private home, rather than individual ownership of a house and plot. The legal terms are being developed and will be explained before any commitment.

How much of everyday life would be shared?

You’ll have your own home and private life. Gardens, the plaza and shared spaces will make it easier to meet people and spend time together, without needing to be social all the time.

Do I need to follow a particular spiritual practice?

No. There will be opportunities for reflection, personal growth and spiritual exploration, but no expectation to follow a particular practice or belief.

Will there be a resident selection process?

Yes. Becoming a resident will involve getting to know each other and exploring whether the village is a good fit on both sides. The process is still being developed. Joining Circle is an opportunity to start that conversation, not a resident application.

Can friends and family visit?

Yes. Guest accommodation is part of the plan, with some domes forming a hotel for visiting friends and family, retreat participants and people curious about the village.

What happens when I join Circle?

You can follow project updates, watch video podcasts with the founding team, take part in community calls and get to know other interested people. We also organise in-person meetups with potential future neighbours.

Does joining Circle commit me to moving?

No. You’re welcome to explore, ask questions and get to know the people and the project at your own pace. Joining Circle is not a housing reservation or cooperative membership.

Join our
Circle.

If you can picture yourself living here, we’d love to get to know you.

Circle is where we share project updates, video podcasts with the founding team, and conversations about the village as it develops. Join community calls or come along to an in-person meetup to meet people who could one day be your neighbours.

You don’t need to have decided anything. Bring your questions and take your time getting to know us.
