What's happiness to you?

Happiness is an elusive bird, they say..the more one tries to capture her the farther away she flies. I have often found her in the least probable places; in the rays of the rising sun, in the purring of my pet, even in great food cooked with a lot of love & in finding this wonderful app & it's lovely community.
What is Your idea of happiness? :)

@IM16 what you write resonates with me. Being all tense with the quest to find happiness it gets further and further out of reach. Once I let go of my aversions and cravings and relax into what is it manifests. 🦋

I totally agree with you 🌻 I find happiness in fresh flowers, my little dog, enjoying a delicious meal, spending time with family and friends, or a nice walk. It's here all around us all the time, and, more importantly, within us 🧡

Unexpected joy from within when you sit back and reflect on all you have, the joy you see in the see of the  people around you and unexplained calmness in the brain.... That's my description of happiness

Dancing and spending time with my sister! Having funny little conversations with her. Watch a performance or film with her.

@AtkinBailey This resonates. Spending time with people who know us well - including our flaws who love and accept us for who we are is happiness.

Happiness, I think, is found in so many things outside of us, which of course is connected to us. I think for me, to enjoy all of those things, to appreciate them things, I need to appreciate myself. I need to experience myself fully, otherwise them things outside of myself, I only get to experience partially.

I think, I will never be done thinking about this.

To me, it starts with the absence of stress.

If there is something happening soon, which I didn't plan yet, I have to make a plan to know, what's coming, to be prepared and to avoid stress.

 

Confirmation is important too. If I know, or if I'm told, I did something right, I'm happy.

Because it means, I didn't waste my time. And it was worth it.

It can even be a cat trustfully sleeping on my lap.

 

On the other hand, I think you had to be unhappy to be able to feel happy. So there is no way to be happy 24/7. Knowing this, I think projects are a good way to become happy. At first it's overwhelming and a lot of problems need to be solved but in the end it's a good feeling.
