Yogaia Barcelona is a fully-equipped and bright yoga studio and shop in the centre of the city (in the Eixample district, nearest metro: Verdageur).
The name Yogaia is a hybrid of the word ‘yoga’ and the word ‘gaia’, which in Greek mythology means ‘the Goddess of the Earth’. Yogaia Barcelona offers a wide range of yoga sessions for all levels, from beginners right through to advanced. Of course, each class is adapted to the individual needs of the student.
There are two large practice rooms at Yogaia Barcelona (which can also be joined, to create one large space). Both are filled with beautiful natural light and include a view to a peaceful interior garden. The rooms are fully equipped with ecological mats and blocks so there's no need to bring your own if you don’t have one.
For a full timetable of current classes, simply check out the Yogaia Barcelona website. A nice extra touch is the changing rooms and showers, which are hard to find in most yoga studios.
When it comes to prices, Yogaia Barcelona offer many ways to pay for your yoga sessions with them. There are drop-in prices, 10- and 20-class packs, as well as unlimited one, three, six and 12-month options.
The Yogaia Barcelona staff also run regular workshops and yoga courses for those with a special interest (details on the website), as well as private yoga classes (although, of course, these come at a premium price).
There are also a team of therapists at Yogaia Barcelona, offering holistic therapies and massages for when your body is craving it. Elsewhere, you’ll find a small meditation room for when silence and focus calls.
Yogaia Barcelona is also a social place and the entrance includes an area where you can have a refreshing herbal tea or snack to eat with your yoga buddies.
Plus, the Yogaia Barcelona shop stocks plenty of yoga-related products, clothing and books. All in all, a very smart and bright yoga space in the centre of Barcelona.
